Landcare revegetation projects in south east New South Wales

This map is a visual representation of Landcare network revegetation projects in the south east region of New South Wales. The map was compiled from data collected from twelve District Landcare Groups by Kaye Dalton in 2023.  Since then, the data set has been refined and mapped by a project team using QGIS, a free and open source geographical information system. The various layers shown on the right of the map can be turned on and off to help orient the Landcare revegetation projects in relation to areas for biodiversity conservation such as National Parks, State Forests and the biodiversity corridors defined in the government’s Regional Plans.  You can click on any of the points and a pop-up will give further details about the Landcare project.

The map is intended to provide a snapshot of current projects and a platform that can be updated as new projects are rolled out. The vision is to build connectivity of biodiversity revegetation sites and share information across the south east region’s Landcare networks.

Thanks to Margaret Mackinnon and Greg Thompson for their help compiling this map.
