Community of Practice

Regional Community of Practice

The Regional Community of Practice for Landcare in the South East of NSW (SE RCOP) is a collective of committed Landcare volunteers and coordinators as well as partner groups and agencies including South East Local Land Services. Together we all share, learn, grow and collaborate to conserve and enhance natural resources, promote sustainable agriculture, build and maintain connections, support communities and learn from and implement traditional land management practices.

Currently the SE RCOP supports fifteen Landcare network areas (working with over 320 local action groups) and four farming systems groups in the South East Local Land Services region. SE RCOP events include the annual Muster at which we value the opportunity to connect, celebrate and collaborate.

State Community of Practice

The NSW Landcare Program (2019 – 2023) is a $22.4 million investment co-delivered by Landcare NSW and NSW Local Land Services to unlock the potential of the extensive volunteer network and Landcare movement across NSW.

The program has employed 12 Regional Landcare Coordinators and 72 Local Landcare Coordinators across NSW.

The Program has delivered on a number of components including local and regional Landcare Coordinators; A Community of Practice Component; People Development; Aboriginal Program; and Program Management and Support.

A Regional Community of Practice Coordinator (RCoPC) plays a critical role in the Program, and is responsible for the delivery of the Regional Landcare Coordinator program deliverables ensuring the development in capacity and resources of Landcare Networks and Groups in NSW. The RCoPC plays a role as a conduit between Regional Landcare Groups and Landcare NSW.

The next program 2023-2027, will continue growing the capacity of Landcare across NSW by employing local and regional Landcare coordinators to implement strategies and care for the local environment and agricultural systems.

Allocations of funding are being finalised and these roles will grow and strengthen the capacity of Landcare groups in South East NSW.
