I’m Linda Cavanagh the Regional Landcare Coordinator (RLC) for the south east NSW region. I live and work on a property with my family in the South West Slopes. I have a keen interest in promoting regenerative agricultural practices in an unpredictable climatic environment and believe that Landcare has an important role in restoring the balance of diversity in our landscape. I am the local landcare coordinator with Boorowa Community Landcare Group and I am excited to expand my work to support others working in Landcare in the region.
I work closely with the South East Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator (RALF), Landcare NSW, Local Land Services and other relevant partners. My role is to support local coordinators and the South East Landcare committee to connect through regular meetings, coordinated training opportunities and to foster regional approaches to planning the delivery of projects by identifying opportunities for purposeful collaboration.
The RLC and the RALF support the Regional Community of Practice (RCOP) which brings people with common interest and purpose together to share and learn. The RCOP provides support to landcare coordinators and volunteers to help foster resilience and build skills to help smaller landcare groups stay connected and support each other in the south east.
The SE RCOP aims to connect the Landcare with its broader partners and stakeholders by way of an annual Muster of Landcare Networks in the South East as well as training and support opportunities for the coordinators and volunteer committees.
